Firm Overview

I am humbled by the recognition I receive as a trial lawyer. I feel privileged to work on precedent-setting, high-profile cases. Yet I draw most pride from my service as a public defender. Through this work, I helped the forgotten, the damned and the downtrodden. I learned invaluable courtroom experience, and I learned how to try cases. You see if a lawyer can try a case to a jury, their client is always in good hands; at the end of the day, it is the jury's job to decide justice, not the greedy insurance adjuster, or the cynical prosecutor, or even the judge.

My success is directly tied to my experience in the courtroom, hard work, passion and an unrelenting commitment to help those I represent. Some of my honors are:

  • Selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers*
  • Instructor — Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyers College
  • Top 100 Trial Lawyer — The National Trial Lawyers
  • AVVO rating of 10/10
  • 2013 Plaintiffs Trial Lawyer of the Year; Washington Defense Trial Lawyers association
  • 2011 Kitsap County Bar Association President
  • 2008-2011 Board of Directors; Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyers College
  • 2008-2011 Board of Directors; Washington State Association for Justice
  • 2003 Trial Lawyer of the Year; Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyers College

I also have a proven record of results in both personal injury and criminal cases. Please visit my page on results for details.

Confronting The Insurance Company To Get Results In Your Case

Was America not founded on the basic principle that we will be responsible for our actions? If you break it, you buy it. With that in mind, if you are hurt by the reckless, irresponsible and negligent act of another, it should not be difficult, at a minimum, to get your medical bills paid. Yet, insurance companies do everything under the sun to shirk their responsibility and pass the buck. Incredibly, they have no qualms about letting people suffer for want of basic medical care, simply so they can show better profits to their shareholders and CEO's.

What's worse, medical bills and lost wages are the small losses. We also insure against bodily injury, by far the most sacred property we own; our body.

This is what motivates me. As if going through a bad, life-changing event is not enough, what should be a healing process is often aggravated by broken promises and betrayals by insurance companies.
